The remote learning aspect isn't a problem for me (100% online was an option even pre-pandemic) but my concerns are:  1) scholarships/funding might dry up, and 2) the recession and difficulty in finding a job for during the program or postgrad.  Is it wise to defer?

I'm almost positive I'm going to defer. In my case, the university I accepted is in London (which for me is overseas), and the main reason for me wanting to go there was the networking/work placement part of the course...it wouldn't make sense to do half of the year online if I'm choosing to pay the international student fees to study abroad.
