Is it a bad look to already be working on a different masters

Question

Posted

I’m planning on getting 2 masters semi concurrently over 2 and a half years. One is Georgia techs online ms in computer science and the other is an on campus program in applied math. The latter is very selective and I’d have started my cs masters by the time I apply. Could it be a problem to admissions that I’m currently working on a masters when I apply to their program?

I don't think a lot of people in the SLP sub check the Q & A section. Try posting back in the SLP sub. Also, if you haven't checked it out already, reddit has an SLP and an SLP Grad subforum where you can talk to more people who have been through this process.

I would rethink your career path in Academia. It is the norm today for university instructors to be paid by class with a limit of 4 per year--watch YouTube professors in poverty. Pulling in $12,000 a year with no benefits is even optimistic. $16,000 if you can work on multiple campuses.

Some universities are going to non paid faculty. People will do it just for the hope of one day being paid faculty.

Please, please do not be like me and so many others. All the work, all the money...Its hard to accept that I foolishly fell into the adjunct trap.I'm trying my best to get a receptionist job.
