I got an invite to interview from Parsons! Did you?

Congrats! I didn't. When did they send out the invite?

Last Thursday, but it was such late notice I couldn't make it, currently trying to reschedule. What are you looking for in grad school?

Good luck with your interview! I have a background in both interaction design and digital media arts, and I'm hoping to learn these two fields in depth and work on creative projects in grad school.

Hey everyone! Did anyone else get into Art Center’s MDP program? I’m still deciding based on the financial aid I got, but would love to hear from other people who got in.

I got in! I've decided to put off grad school for this year though. Did you apply for other programs?

I applied for graphic design at Otis and CSUN as well, hoping to bridge the gap between my interest in coding and my graphic design background. MDP is definitely my top choice though! Did you decide to hold off for personal reasons, or were there admissions/financial aid elements at play?

Im still deciding on if I’ll go this year or reapply another year for $$ reasons. Seeing  Art Center’s financial aid offerings was a bit of a reality check, haha.

I'm holding off on it because I just started a new job, and I want to prioritize that first. I might consider doing a part-time program or...full-time grad/work after I've been here a bit longer.

Do you know what you want to do with coding + graphic design? :)

That totally makes sense. You might be able to get more flexibility later on by focusing on work now, so that seems like a win-win!

I have some UX experience and I’d like to dive more into research/designing more experimental interactive media rather than the standard website design. Hopefully grad school can provide more learning space for that. Is your background in design?

Ooh that's cool! Do you have a portfolio, or are you hoping to build that in grad school? Here's mine. I don't have a background in design, only an interest in art and design since I was a kid. I really don't know where I want to take my career, and I was hoping to explore that in grad school, but I feel like right now my job can offer the same. Hard to tell in the long run though, as it's hard to predict these things ?

What drove you towards research? I feel ya on the not wanting to do standard web design stuff, but at the same time I'm not sure if academia is for me.

You have a really strong portfolio, so either way I think you'll be able to soak up some knowledge! The nice thing about school is that it will be there whenever you feel like you want to re-apply, if you decide to go that route.

Here's mine. It's pretty sparse, so I'm hoping to build it up more in grad school. I'm also really interested in art and science, so my approach to design has always been a pretty structured one and research has always been my favorite part of the process.

Keep us updated if you do decide to re-apply, it's great to see the projects that you're working on and your application progress posts have been super helpful!

I love how well-written the process for your projects are on your portfolio! Likewise, keep us updated if you decided to attend grad school this year and good luck with everything!!!
