mad_world Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 I am very keen to apply to the masters program in machine learning at cmu. However, I am unclear if my background is fit to get through the cmu admission criteria. My background: I have an undergrad degree in Economics. The course covered Statistics, linear algebra and calculus extensively. While I have done coding on my job, I do not have coursework experience/credits on programming. Want to clarify the following: The minimum criteria at cmu mentions this- "Incoming students should have good analytic skills and a strong aptitude for mathematics, statistics, and programming." Would it suffice if I do online courses related to programming to enhance my profile? Also, what are the kind of topics that I should be covering under the online courses? Are there any online courses that you can recommend? Are there other universities that would be better suited to my background?
