camkühl Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 I am an aspiring med school student in undergrad and desperate to find a project, subject, or really anything that will increase my chances of entering a med school while at the same time broadening my experience. Currently, I am at a point where I know what I need but no clue how to go about it. Has anyone been through the application process for med school, and, if so, what did you do that allowed you to stand out to your school? Do you have any advice for me on how to find a useful passion project and how to accomplish it?

iteachhealth Posted February 27 Posted February 27 To stand out for med school, prioritize impactful experiences over a long list. Focus on depth. Reflect on your interests to find a meaningful project. Seek clinical exposure through volunteering or shadowing. Engage in research to demonstrate critical thinking. Volunteer in community health to address disparities. Show leadership by taking initiative. Quantify your contributions and reflect on how they shaped your understanding of medicine. Don't neglect academics; GPA and MCAT scores are vital. Document your experiences and network with medical professionals. Choose activities you're passionate about, demonstrating genuine commitment.
