Am I able to apply for the CIHR Doctoral Award (CGS-D) if I am not currently affiliated with a program/university? I completed my masters 2 years ago and have been working since. I'm planning on applying to several PhD programs across Canada. I was told that even if I can apply, the likelihood of getting the award is low because I have no supervisor supporting my application, etc. Any guidance would be much appreciated! Thanks!
