Hello everyone,

I'm currently waiting on two schools for a decision. I've interviewed for both schools and reached out to both of them after interviews. One school says that they make decisions and give out offers through mid-April and the other school says that I am high on their waitlist. I got these information straight from the professors that interviewed me.

The last time I reached out to both schools was mid-March and still have not heard from them since and the April 15th deadline is soon. So I don't know if I should stay hopeful or let go of the hope of getting into a program.

I do have an offer for a program but it was from a school that I applied last minute for and one that has little funding, so I'm not sure if I'll still accept it if I don't hear from the two that I'm waiting for.

The programs that I am waiting for and have been accepted to are related to Industrial/Organizational Psychology and either a terminal Master's or Master's+Doctoral program. (For some context)

I am also an international student and going to receive my Bachelor's this coming May in the U.S. So it's kind of nerve-wracking to not hear of a decision for so long as I'm anxious to figure out my plans after graduation.

Why not stay hopeful for the next 3 days? That's what I'm doing. I've seen people on Reddit getting accepted off the waiting list for their programs very recently, possibly today even.

I'm kind of having the same issue and I decided to wait until tomorrow then I will email the schools that I've been waiting their response.

I'm also applying to I O psych, what schools did you applied to and which one you haven't heard from?

@PegDanson, yes I guess there's no harm in staying hopeful. I actually just got an acceptance yesterday for the Master's program I interviewed for and now I'm waiting on a reply from the program that I was waitlisted at (as it is currently my first choice). But I only have like 3 days to respond to the Master's that accepted me just now so I might ask for an extension on the deadline since I'm also waiting on another program.

Hopefully admissions offers open up for you as well!

@Mason1987, I just got an acceptance to one of the programs which is at Illinois State and it's an I/O-Social psych Master's program. I've sent an email and now waiting for a reply from the program that I was waitlisted at.

I actually applied to 10 schools for either I/O psych or developmental psych, they're two different areas of psychology but I take a great interest in both. But I guess developmental psych is not the one for me since I haven't been accepted to any programs for developmental...

Similar problems have arisen for me, therefore I've decided to put off contacting the schools where I've been waiting for an answer until tomorrow.
