Had an Admission Waiting Anxiety Dream

I had a dream last night that it was the day that I was going to hear about whether I got admitted or not. However, I decided to go on a trip to the mall and got hopelessly lost.

I found myself out in a rural section with no cell phone towers or Internet connections. I was so anxious since I did not know where I was and kept thinking that it was so ironic that on the day that I had been waiting forever for, I was not going to find out the final decision at all.

In the dream, the University was supposed to call me to let me know. Therefore, I was also thinking that since they could not get a hold of me, they would probably just pass me up for admission and call the next person on the list to accept him/her instead.

Has anyone else had a similar dream?

Kind of. When I was having trouble paying my Columbia enrollment fee, I had a dream that I got to NYC somehow, but couldn't attend the school. I have no idea why I would have moved given the fact, that I knew I couldn't attend. Yeah, hopefully I don't get too many bad dreams like that.

The dreams do sound similar. They both revolve around being anxious about an possible obstacle, that might prevent us from reaching our goals.

I didn't have nightmares until I got accepted, but before I finished undergrad. Crisis of confidence, I guess. I got very anxious in that in-between time -- I always do before graduations, but this time I had overloaded on units and a thesis due....

I dreamed:

1) that I forgot to turn in a major project and missed a graduation requirement and therefore did poorly and failed to finish undergrad, and had to tell my grad school -- which does not defer enrollment.

2) that I dreamed all this and I'm really still in high school, and therefore have to "redo" everything!

...Scary stuff. But it's all worked out alright -- whew!

Wow, those would be very scary dreams to have. I can tell how your level of anxiety kept increasing in the second dream.
