Advice on Potential 2nd Masters Degree

I am currently a student in the MA Biblical Studies program at New Orleans Baptist Seminary. I am aware now that degrees from Evangelical Seminaries, specifically Baptist ones are worthless in the academic world. My question of advice is what would be my best option moving forward? My goal is to teach and I have no issue with teaching at an Evangelical School in the future but I would like to receive quality education and have more diversity in my education rather than only having degrees from Evangelical Schools. Would it be a viable option to apply to another Masters program at a different school after completion of my current degree? Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

Hi there, an alumnus here. I was in the undergrad program few years ago, so I only information that I've heard from other students.
I've known one student who went from MA in Biblical Studies straight into a Tier 1 Ph.D, but he was invited specifically by the school's world-class professor after presenting a paper at a conference.

Me personally, I'm studying at another school as an M.div and currently in the process of applying to a Th.M program.  Eventually, I'm trying to aim for a non-sbc Ph.D program.

Realistically I would recommend you to apply for a non-sbc Th.M program. Th.M is somewhat easier than Ph.D admission, so maybe using it as a stepping stone could be an option. NOBTS doesn't offer a Th.M program, and some other SBC schools do. However, I'd recommend you to explore other options. Maybe try other evangelical schools or schools of other denomination.

I really appreciate the response! I actually have been looking at doing a Th.M somewhere else and then applying to PhD programs.

What are some options you’ve been considering?
