State school M.A student here stressing about POI's, publications, and everything else that goes into this incredibly stressful process of application season! Looking at 6-7 different programs, either in media studies or critical/cultural studies (such a weird dichotomy between media studies and comm programs at so many institutions in spite of no real epistemic/ontological difference between media studies and much of comm theory/methodology) Anxious but enthusiastic and glad to be here showing solidarity with you all! I got accepted into one school and they said the dean will discuss funding once the semester settles in. Does anyone knows what that means? Some places will offer full-funding for some students so they don't have to pay anything, and partial funding for other students and they typically have to pay for their tuition through teaching, scholarships, and fellowships.
