clinpsych314159 Posted October 2, 2021 Posted October 2, 2021 Has anyone in a clinical psychology program successfully received funding from NSF GRFP? If so, what did you list a your Major Field of Study? Clinical psych is not listed as an option, and the app notes “if the proposed sub field is not listed in the appendix, it may not be eligible for fellowship support.” After talking with others, I’m thinking there may be a solid chance I won’t receive funding if I select “psychology-other” and write in “clinical.” Because of that, I was thinking of choosing either Social Psych or Cognitive Psych. BUT… the app then states, “If awarded a Fellowship, you will be required to enroll in a degree program in the Major Field of Study you designated. Changing the Major Field of Study in the first year of the Fellowship is not allowed.” I’m not entirely sure what that means. Would my transcript need to say social? Thank you!
lkaitlyn Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 You have to make sure your proposed research also doesn't sound clinical. Read through the entire eligibility manual. They don't allow projects that are clinical in nature.
