Auggie1 Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 I have a first-round Zoom interview scheduled for 60 minutes. Any thoughts about whether to wear a blazer or not as a woman in a humanities field? It seems like things are less formal on Zoom, but I don't want to look under-dressed if I just wear a nice blouse.
carlrogersfan98 Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 When it doubt I would err on the side of overdressed. I would just dress how you normally would for an in-person job interview. You probably can't go wrong with either, but if you feel more professional/confident with the blazer, then wear it! Make sure your bottom matches your top in terms of professionalism though. I've heard many a horror story where people dress professionally for interviews up top, and if they stand up while forgetting that their camera is still on, they reveal sweatpants, pajama pants, or worse... nothing at all
fern_x Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 I would just dress how you normally would for an in-person job interview or as if it was your first day at a new job. I think a blazer or a blouse would be formal enough. I would also advise to wear black trousers and clean black shoes.
smellycat Posted January 31, 2022 Posted January 31, 2022 I just wore a black turtleneck (dressed "smart") and comfy pants on the bottom LOL. It's 2022, the NEED for woman suits are so outdated.
