rachaelski
Hi Education People, What are some of the research conferences you all attend and apply to present? I am presenting at the National Association of Multicultural Education, and I am waiting to hear about a couple more proposals I submitted. Obviously, there are the biggies like the AERA, but where else is good for a relative newby to attend and submit to present?
t_ruth
This will depend on your specific interests. The best thing to do is ask professors or graduate students who share those interests with you (or let us know your interests in case any of us happen to have the same)
rachaelski
My focus area is literacy, specifically I research visual literacies. I also dabble with Social Studies teaching methods and the relationship between industry & development and education in Southeast Asia.
t_ruth
Sorry, can't help you with specifics then (totally different area). Hopefully someone else will know more...

Regionally, SERA might work for New Mexico (it's like a baby AERA). If you dabble in teacher ed, SITE (AACE) might be of interest, too.

They are tricky...you have to be registered for the conference before they'll consider your paper!

aginath
If you find yourself in Anaheim for AECT this October or Jacksonville next year, let me know. I'll be at both.
