Is it necessary to include employment, awards, etc., in the application portal when you will need to upload a CV?

Hi all,

I noticed this when I was filling in information in application portals. Many schools have a separate section that ask for employment, publication, and awards. My confusion is that when these experiences will be reflected in the CV, so why bother to type them separately in the portal. Any perspective is welcome. Thanks!
