Hey everyone,

I recently took the GRE and received a 590V and 690Q. (1280 total)

My GPA is 3.5 for all years of college and 3.85 for the last 3 years.

I have research experience in MEG imaging, neuroendocrinolgy, cognitive linguistics, behavior neuroscience (dealing with marmosets)

3 strong letters of rec.

President of Psi Chi

Double major (Neuroscience, Psychology)

How do I look? Please be candid in your critiques.

Agreed. You should be fine there. :)

1280 is a decent score with research experience.

What would be a GRE score that would prevent getting into cogneuro programs?

I'm sure this varies between schools, but I imagine anything below 1000 is going to make it much harder to get into a PhD program.

I'm just worried that my GRE will be a huge factor for not getting in. I take it in a week but based off practice tests I should get around an 1100 :/

As long as the other parts of your application are solid, you'll be fine. 1100 isn't great, but it's not that bad either.

Well at least I guessed my score perfectly even though it's not that good. Ah I'd feel so much better about my app if I broke 1200. Congrats to the OP!
