eklavya Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Is it going to hurt me at all to skip optional diversity statements? probably not, but if you are in a position where it might actually help you (minority, first/second gen college student, etc), then i suggest you turn that in as well. another positive impression it might have upon the adcomm is that they'll see you have submitted the application in full detail, without leaving any perhaps-relevant question/field unanswered. only one school i have applied to asked for this kind of statement, and since it was optional, i turned in a short one (3 medium length paragraphs). idk if it'll help me at all, but i know it sure won't hurt to have it done!

Like Bhikhaari has said - not submitting it won't hurt you but submitting it definetely can help you, if you have something good and relevant to say So if you do, don't miss this chance!
