Waiting on... [for M.A.]

University of Toronto

York University

Queens University

When should I start hearing from these schools?

Waiting on...

MA from:

University of Toronto

University of British Columbia (UBC)

PhD from:

Harvard

Yale

Princeton

Columbia

Washington University in St. Louis (WashU/WUSTL)

Coming from Canada, I'm not expecting to get into the PhD programs without an MA, but we'll see...

I am breathing a bit easier now that I know my CGS Master's Application has been selected to be sent to Ottawa for approval (meaning it's pretty much in the bag... 97% success rate last year).

Going absolutely crazy waiting for Political Science decisions. My schools all said I wouldn't hear until mid-March, and I am very jealous of everyone who is already hearing back

Posted

Rachel,

Where did you apply?

Does anyone know when U of T is supposed to be sending out notifications?

I am going crazy as well... Hopefully hear from York U soon...

lee, the survey results show that one person got an email reject from Yale and one got a phone acceptance this week. as far as I can tell from other forums, most of us have heard nothing.

Posted

wow.. it would be a really cruel joke for someone to say they heard from yale.. but really did'nt. But anyways everyday i keep checking me email like 10 times a day.. lol...

I'm still waiting for word from Yale too. Haven't seen any additional postings on the sites I check today, so hang in there!

Now that the survey is uploaded, I noticed that no one else posted anything from Yale. Maybe the postings early last week were just the first round.

There are two results from Yale, one acceptance and one rejection. I wonder if that is all. I know that for other programs, most applicants receive emails regarding a change in their status. I don't know if it was the same for PoliSci. Anybody has more info?

I applied to YorkU, too. (for MES)

It's so hard to JUST wait

jayz,

I heard from York that they haven't even begun processing MA in poli sci....

Perhaps it is a different situation for MES

The waiting kills you, I know :(

There were two accepts from WashU two weeks ago and another one today. Kind of gives you hope. Anyone heard anything? Still waiting for Yale too.

Still waiting on yale... anyone heard from Yale yet? geezes whats taking them so long. the appt was due in December.

I'm assuming they must be sending out decisions in chunks, because they sent out the first set 14th/15th and nothing since. There are lots of us still waiting with you!

i agree, but i wonderhow many "chunks" there could be, right? don't only 25 or so students actually get accepted?...good luck to everyone, i'm in the same boat ;-)

Posted

yeah that idea of sending out acceptance in "chunks" doesnt sound really good... the rest are probably rejection letters... well i still have columbia

Just thought I would spread the word, but Yale rejects/accepts went out today. Got my rejection via email, which linked to their online app. The rejection was posted there.

Personally, I'm not too bummed. I don't want to attend a school that won't have me as a student!

Yeah, no chunks after all...dinged via email today.

Got a phone call acceptance from Yale (Ph.D) today. I have a feeling they do it in chunks (or when a prof. has time to make the calls).
