New to the GradCafe and already being subjugated to coffee drinks whereupon I prefer to spread my caffeine intake across multiple ventures (such as energy drinks!). Where's the Rockstar love!?

Anywho, so while my GRE scores on my recent test were not fantastic (specifically the writing) if I amalgamate the best scores with those prior it reads: 660 Verbal, 580 Quant, 5.5 writing. My question is then, should I put my BEST scores or my most RECENT scores on the application (knowing full well they'll see both).

I have heard that some students combined their best scores. So it is an established practice BUT probably not the most common practice, I am afraid. To be on the safe side, I'd say put the recent scores. Sorry if it's not the answer you were looking for.

If the highest scores are from a test you took within recent years - say, within the past 2/3 years, sending the highest scores isn't a bad idea. I have also heard that usually, schools consider your highest scores, regardless of the test date and number of tests.

Putting your highest scores of the two times isn't bad...

But don't combine scores from different test dates. Pick the test with the best overall scores and report that.
