socialpsychlover Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 Could you help me look at the reponse from one of the potential advisors I've been contacting with please? I don't know what I should do next, continue with the talk or not? Thanks for your nice words. (I'm not sure my research is all that broad, but it's a nice compliment to hear anyway). Attached please find a few papers. Among the projects we have going now that are not written up are xxxxx. Thanks for your interest. socialpsychlover and repatriate 1 1
TheDude Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 What is the context that surrounds this? Are you a junior in undergrad? If so, too soon to be contacting POIs. Have you already applied? If so, I'd stop contacting.
socialpsychlover Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 I've already applied. Why stop contacting please?
neuropsych76 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) I've already applied. Why stop contacting please? Since you already applied there is no need to keep contacting your POI unless there is an important issue. You don't want to seem inpatient, pushy, ect. I don't know what the context of your conversation is but I know its generally not a good idea to email POI's post application. Are you just complimenting them on their research and they sent some papers? If you must reply, just send a quick thank you for the papers. Edited January 12, 2011 by neuropsych76
socialpsychlover Posted January 12, 2011 Author Posted January 12, 2011 Thanks! That makes sense. Well, he told me that he would take new students this coming fall, and asked if I'd like him to send a long a few papers. And then I said yes, he sent me some papers as attached in the email above. I just expressed my appreciation again before submitting the application. So now I just have to be patient and wait right?
MoJingly Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 So now I just have to be patient and wait right? Yup!
