astorian Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Hi everyone I have an interview tomorrow, a group one where we will tour the campus and meet with several faculty members. There are several faculty members that I would be very happy to work with- some who work on topics that I have much experience with, and others that are just very interesting to me but I don't have much experience with. My question - what should I say when they ask me who I want to work with? Does it look bad to say that I am interested in quite a few of the labs? Thanks!!
perkinqq Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 no it's good to show interest in more than one lab. They want to know that if the primary professor you work with dies, leaves the university, etc. you still have a future at the institution. Also, professors are sometimes impressed if you are able to associate their interests with other professors in the department... sort of that interdisciplinary sexiness without going outside the division... hehe. alrighty. Goooooooood luck
