GPA:3.75/4
research:
REU RA for a development econ AP in my university -- basic data analysis and programming tasks -- going on -- 1 year
RA for a statistic Professor(department head) at my university -- replication and expansion code, independent analysis data task -- going on -- 5 month
Extracurricular and other activities:
Working as a tutor coordinator in the economics club
The academic training program of Economics depart will hold monthly seminars with different professors
Statistics Consulting Training Camp
Language:
R, Latex, STATA, SAS, MATLAB, Python, ArcGIS, Git
reference:
3 profs from RA work: 1AP and 1full in my univ, 1full from top10 univ
2 profs from master/phd courses: 2full in my univ
award:
Dean's list, almost every semester
My weakness:
During my sophomore year, I chose courses that were very hard to me, resulting in 7 late drops and 6 of them in my sophomore year. (I enroll in the courses credits celling every semester!)
I have been trying the econometrics of the Honor version and web courses consecutively, so I did LD twice and only got B in the end. Therefore, I have also taken many statistics courses to prove my abilities.
I got C+ in Intro Mathematical Analysis 1. But during my class, there were some changes in the content and name of the class, which were even more difficult than now. I'm not sure if I need to explain it in SOP.
I don't have much research experience, many people are 5+ full-time research assistants.
I have never worked as a teaching assistant.
International students face fierce competition.
