First, I wish all of you good luck with your MFA stuff.

It is my first time applying, and it was painful, but waiting is more painful, I guess.

How do you guys hang on ? I did not get any interview invites, but what are they asking after asking about your art work?

Ahh congrats on your northwestern interview!!! I hope it goes really well for you.

Fellow sculpture applicant, best of luck with your other schools. I also applied to Yale sculpture. This is my first round ever applying anywhere.

They told me in advance it would be "the same four questions for all students" which I thought was interesting. I actually asked them if I was allowed to know them in advance and they never replied hahaha

yale

They asked standard questions after you present your work, like "why grad school now" and "why yale". The also asked me if I work fast or slow which was odd.

I'd recommend finding a way to mention how you plan on addressing diversity equity and inclusion. If they dont' ask directly, find a way to talk about it. US Federal law changed recently which means they can't explicitly accept people for DEI reasons, but it's important, and should be on everyone's mind, and just because they don't ask doesn't mean they're not waiting for you to talk about it.

That's my advice.

Other than that, just breath, relax, and talk naturally. Aki Sasamoto is very friendly especially.

Any advice on a SAIC interview for textiles? First time applicant wondering if I should study up on the school.

Thank you; that is something I would not have thought about, but I can definitely tailor it into one of my answers for why Yale for an MFA. Is there anything else you remember that was something to keep in mind? Presentation wise & what faculty will be the interviewers? Also, did you end up getting into sculpture? And if so or not did you receive that answer through a phone call or email, and what date was that?
