Recently accepted into UChicago's MAPSS and considering my future steps. I understand it's a fast-paced, 1-year program primarily aimed at PhD preparation. However, my focus is on transitioning into the job market afterwards. I'm curious about:

• Is it possible to extend the program beyond one year, specifically to allow more time for job searching and preparation?
• If so, what are the conditions or requirements for requesting an extension?
• Have any of you gone through this process, and how did it impact your job search?

Would really appreciate insights or experiences related to extending the program for career purposes.
