Congrats to all those who were successful!

I am wondering when your application was "recommended" does this essentially mean "waitlisted"? Or do most people get recommended. Just wondering how hopeful I should be about funding becoming available. Also curious about when people usually hear if new funding has become available. Thanks in advance to anyone who has information on this!!

Letter S and received that I was not selected this time about 40 minutes ago.

I am wondering if there is an issue, on my end, I cannot access the scores/Notice of Decision document. I just have the letter and selection criteria pdfs, but the letter says the package should also contain the other one. Any similar experiences or ways to fix this? I sent an email but wouldn't expect a prompt reply lol

Thank you for sharing your stats. I was in the same subcommittee, and didn't get funding, unfortunately. Just for reference:

Research ability/potential: 4.70

Relevant experience: 4.96

Total: 9.66/12

I was wondering, given your score, we're you offered the cgs-d or the fellowship?

Can anyone else in committee 5C share their scores? Didn't get an offer, but I'm curious what the cutoff was. Thank you 🥺

I got an 8.80, and I see someone above in 5C got an 8.77.

hi! i'm last name k and have seen a lot of people later in the alphabet than me start hearing back. (on reddit, there are a few applicants earlier in the alphabet as well who are anxiously waiting. 🫠)

does anyone with past experience know if this is an issue? i'm assuming it's due to a different committee or system delays, but it definitely is not peaceful lol.

Received an offer from 5c got a 10.14, 5.22 for research potential, 4.92 for experience. First time applying. I received a CGS-D but I'm at an US university. I'm 100% sure I applied to the fellowship and said multiple times in my application that I was in the states. Did this also happened to other people? I saw from both years prior that a lot of foreign based students received CGS-Ds even if they're not eligible. Kinda bad tripping right now that they would remove my funding.

My understanding is that you only get notified that you were "recommended" if your score was within "spitting distance" (for lack of better terms) of people in your committee who did. People do turn down offers so there is the possibility of some funding being redistributed. As for the timeline, I have zero idea. My honest advice is to plan as if you're not going to get anything this year and if you do, awesome!

Hii everyone, I wanted to share my results as reading others' experiences over the past few days has been quite helpful. I was awarded the SSHRC this year (!!!). It was my first time applying & I’m pleasantly surprised by the outcome.

My last name begins with an "A" and I received my notification at 12:04 a.m last night (April 30). I was evaluated by Committee 1A and received a score of 5.66/6 for academic aptitudes and 5.75/6 for research and related experience, for a total of 11.41/12.

I was assessed by 5B. Not successful. 4.59/6 for ability, 4.24/6 for relevant experience. Total 8.83/12. First time applying from a foreign institution. Pretty much the percentage awarded is the same as other committees: ~42%.

Seems like the cut-off point greatly varies between committees. Also very bummed that my package wasn't as great as I thought. Congrats to those who got it!

It seems we're in the close to the same committee, I'm in 5C and got a worse score of 8.77. I think 5 in general is way loser than the others. Good luck to both of us!

Hi.  Sorry that this time the application was not successful. I received the fellowship, but the amounts are the same.  You can ask where you ranked - which is what I did last year.

Congrats! How did you see your score? I am looking at my documents and I am unable to find it! Thanks in advance 😁

My score is on the first page of the "NOTICE OF DECISION" document, in a box just under where it says "Offered".

I won — a major relief as I was going to have to withdraw from my program if I didn't get it due to financial strain. Last name C; email received at 8:25am. 10.88 / 12.

My sincerest condolences to those who weren't as lucky (I refuse to say successful considering my familiarity with this process).

Elaborating on my results as suggested by another poster — totally agree re: being transparent about results and sharing as much information as possible. I cannot tell you how much time I spent trying to research info like this with no luck...

Email received: 8:25am, April 30 2025
Committee: 1A
Research: 5.35/6
Relevant experience: 5.53/6
Total score: 10.88/12
Funding decision: Offered

Committee Results

Fellowships Not Offered: 59 (57.3%)

Overall Competition Results

Applications: 2281
Fellowships Offered: 973 (42.7%)
Fellowships Not Offered: 1308 (57.3%)

(A note to anyone reading this looking for competition statistics: these percentages pertain to applicants who made it to the second round of the process, am not sure on the latest numbers for success rate and application volume overall)

Apparently I am 8th place in the waitlist (Committee 2B, 66/136, 58 were offered). Feels so close yet so far... Hopefully next year will be the one haha
