  1. Maybe you've been waitlisted? I haven't seen any Yale waitlists on the results page yet.
  2. I see one other post claiming a McGill acceptance in the political theory subfield. My decision did come a lot earlier than I expected, especially given the school's Jan 15 deadline, so I'm not sure if there will be more to come. Like most universities, there's a preference for domestic students. However, just looking at the current PhD students listed on their website, there's fairly sizeable representation of international students from all over, so I wouldn't write it off, especially if you see a fit with the department.
  3. I applied from Canada. I'm not sure when more decisions will be announced, but the email mentioned the admissions committee met yesterday and recommended my admission. No financial info yet, they say it will come in the portal, but the email mentions a fellowship package. Good luck with your MA application! Montréal is a great city and I know friends who have enjoyed their time at McGill.
  4. Claiming a McGill PhD acceptance. Got an informal email from the DGS late last night.
  5. Also claiming NYU. Subfield is American politics. Got an email from the DGS around 9 AM ET this morning.
  6. New here, but just got waitlisted by Berkeley via an informal email from a prof on the admissions committee. They said that they want to keep me on the list so they can admit me if they "gain approval to admit more students" into the program. Said they won't know more until early- to mid-April, and because they think I'm an excellent candidate I likely may have accepted elsewhere by then. Does anyone know the odds of getting off a waitlist like this? And is this kind of explanation genuine or is it just standard fluff trying to keep me interested in case they reach me on the waitlist? Thanks for your help!
