I've seen on the results section that several people have heard back from CMU's statistics department. There were several acceptances and a wait-list. Some people heard back as early as 1/26/2011. When I completed my application (back in November), they sent me an email saying that my application was complete that I could expect to hear back from them no later than January 30th, 2011, aka TODAY! I find it odd that I haven't received an email with a decision yet, and that the day by which they would notify all applicants was a Sunday. Does anyone else have this problem?

: ( If that's the case, you'd think they'd at least send us a nice rejection email.

My application was fairly strong, but I come from a small school, which may have provided a disadvantage:

Mathematics and Biology double major

770Q, 530V, 5.0AW on the GRE

3.74 GPA (3.70 Math GPA, 3.73 Biology GPA)

1 Summer of Molecular Biology Research as part of an Undergraduate Research Program at my school

1 Summer of Bioinformatics/Computational Biology Research at Washington University in St. Louis Medical School.

Strong letters of rec.

And I expressed an interest in doing statistical work in bioinformatics and computational biology.

What about everyone else?
