Mind_Left_Body Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Hi Folks- I am waiting to hear back from the department about my admissions status like many others right now. I recently found out that my employer will fully cover my tuition, etc. for graduate school. At the time of submitting my application, I didn't know this, so I checked the box "seeking departmental fellowship". QUESTION: Should I politely email the graduate secretary and let her know that--if I'm fortunate enough to be accepted--I won't need a fellowship or any financial assistance? I'm not sure what the best approach is here, because I don't want to pester the department right now. On the other hand, I think it is important that they know about this change to my application. Thoughts? Thanks.
Strangefox Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I think you can certainly do that. It is not pestering, it is avery important piece of ingormation that can influence ad comm decision. So yes, I would contact a grad secretaty about that. Good luck!
UFGator Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 I would definitely contact the graduate secretary about that. It may significantly help you get in.
