Mrs. Grad Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 My husband received the following response to a Boulder admissions inquiry this morning: "Thank you for your interest in our program. We have already invited some candidates for interview, however, your application was strong and is currently still on a waiting list. We will let you know in the next few weeks if your status changes. I am sorry that I do not have better news for you at this time." I'm heartbroken. What's strange is that I haven't seen anything about MCDB Boulder interviews anywhere. Has anyone received an invitation? This was our top choice, so it's disheartening. Should I keep hoping for admittance or should I move on?
newms Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) You could ask if they have a ranked wait-list and how highly your husband's application is on the wait-list. You could also ask how many people typically get accepted off the wait-list. Those answers might give you an idea of how likely it is that he'll get accepted eventually. There are some people who get acceptances who will go elsewhere, so it is entirely possible that people will get accepted off the wait-list. So while it's disheartening, you shouldn't give up hope just yet. Best of luck! Edited February 15, 2011 by newms
Mrs. Grad Posted February 15, 2011 Author Posted February 15, 2011 Perhaps my husband will reopen the line of communication in the next couple of weeks. He simply thanked the member of the admissions committee and restated his strong interest in their program.
micromajor2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Im not really into the tarot card stuff but it is sort of weird that they guessed right about your husbands app but id still remain opptomistic, its not a no yet. I got a similar email so I know how it feels
beanbagchairs Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Dont give up till you get that rejection letter; but you need to be open-minded about your other choices. Good luck.
