kotov Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) Anyone want to claim this one? I applied there (for Modern Europe, not American), so needless to say I'm pretty freaked out now. :/ Was your result also posted to the website, or not? Edited February 17, 2011 by kotov
Mad Historian Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I was one of the ones who posted on the results board. I received notification by email, but when I checked the site, it had not registered yet. Best of luck to you! Anyone want to claim this one? I applied there (for Modern Europe, not American), so needless to say I'm pretty freaked out now. :/ Was your result also posted to the website, or not?

I also applied to South Carolina for early American and haven't received anything - email, snail mail, website - nada. So I too, am biting my nails a little bit right now. Congrats on the acceptance though - and funding, that's fantastic!
kotov Posted February 17, 2011 Author Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) Sigh. Not looking good for me. It's like my fourth choice, but still. Congratulations on getting in though...maybe there's still hope for me. Also, did your status on the website change to accepted, or is it still pending? Edited February 17, 2011 by kotov
meo03 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I got accepted there today as well. I applied there for the MA program, and got awarded an assistantship with a nice stipend for two years.I haven't checked the website, but got an email from the DGS this afternoon. I'm very excited, there are a couple of people there that I will be thrilled to work with, should I go there.
Hoopskirt Historian Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Anyone out there still waiting on South Carolina or heard anything from them? (Other than the "You'll hear from us by early April" nonsense)
MegMill Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Anyone out there still waiting on South Carolina or heard anything from them? (Other than the "You'll hear from us by early April" nonsense) I emailed the graduate coordinator and she very politely informed me that i was rejected and should be receiving notification shortly.
Hoopskirt Historian Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I emailed the graduate coordinator and she very politely informed me that i was rejected and should be receiving notification shortly. Meg, I'm sorry to hear that. Though with SC as my last chance, my hopes are almost non-existent. Did your status on the graduate portal change or is it still in the "pending admission decision" limbo?
meo03 Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 anyone here make it to SC's accepted students day yesterday? If so, how was it?
Mad Historian Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I managed to make it, but couldn’t stay the entire time since I drove a long way to get there, and had to get back to teach on Tuesday. My general impression of the department was very favorable. Honestly, at this point, If I can get official word on funding, they are my choice. Even though it was much larger than my small undergraduate college, they still had that mentoring, department on the rise kind of feel. anyone here make it to SC's accepted students day yesterday? It seems quite likely that I'll end up there too. What is your area of emphasis?

Mad Historian Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) Got my last rejection in the mail today, so it seems that I will be in Columbia next year! Anyone else going to be joining me at USC? Hi, Meo03. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. My areas of interest are early America and the Revolution. I just accepted USC’s offer, so it looks like I will see you there! Like I said earlier, because of work commitments, I could not stay at the open house event for the full day, but if you think I can help you out in anyway, feel free to pm me. Wolverine85 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Hey I am interested in USC for PhD in history. Could anyone here pm me their GPA and GRE scores if USC take them. I want to see if I have a chance to be accepted into their PhD program for fall of 2012. Thanks in advance.
