I applied to UCSB & haven't heard anything. No change on the website either. Sheesh.

I just checked the results for 2010: a couple acceptances in early Feb & the rest in early March. So, maybe next week?

I got an e-mail late last night to check the website. I couldn't find any real information about the cohort or funding there, though there was an implication that contact by the department itself will follow.

Same story here--not a lot of information.

I was just accepted, fully funded! I've been rejected by 10 places so far and had given up hope, and so the acceptance was so unexpected it made me literally cry for 10 minutes (too much info for Grad Cafe? I'm beyond caring!).

Thanks for your nice words folks!

Glossed, I for one won't be at the admitted students weekend as I live out of the country (although I'm Californian, so I already know what a wonderful place SB is).

Hi all, I'm applying to MA & MA/PhD programs in Religious Studies, and am waiting to hear from UCSB. I just got accepted at Claremont yesterday, and they only had a month to review my application, whereas UCSB's deadline for my department was Dec 1st. Wondering if there are any other UCSB Religious Studies MA/PhD candidates/hopefuls out there... a friend who got rejected last year told me he didn't hear from UCSB until "mid-late March". Not sure if I want to make Claremont wait that long... oY!

More info for anyone who's curious:

They expect an entering cohort of 10 or 11 students this year, and they admitted 22. They've cut the number of admittances in the last couple years so they could offer funding to more students (and get more competitive it was implied).
