rakman
I am waiting to hear from CU-Boulder MA Geography program. Does anyone know what is going on? Totally anxious!
encephalization
According to the boards: University of Colorado - Boulder, Geography Masters (F11) Accepted via E-mail on 19 Feb 2011 TAship. So I think they have started sending out results (over 2 weeks ago it seems).

Gunner24
Can't know for sure unless you ask, but it probably means that they've sent offers to the first round of acceptances. They department may still be figuring out funding...I know another large state school in Colorado had delays with state funding so it had to wait later than usual to figure out admits/funding. Hope this helps.
rakman
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I think I should settle down but I'm trying to find out if I got accepted or not while I'm in Kazakhstan.
encephalization
The results on the board from last year indicates that they had some sort of rolling admissions. Also, if you are international, that may always play in. Other than that I can not help you. I wish you good luck though. Have you applied elsewhere? Phaska
hmm.. I am waiting for the official PhD response from Boulder. I have been in touch with the professor I want to work with though, and she has informally said I am accepted (hooray!). But she also said that the department is transferring to a new reviewing system and its been a mess this year, and definitely delaying the whole process... so cross your fingers. rakman
Congradulations on the informal "yes". I have been given no such guarantee. I hear that funding is low, and admissions and competition are really high. Luckily I have two backups that I could gladly accept. I am waiting to hear from Oregon. I notice that someone has been contacted by phone. Do you know if this is common?

Do you know if this is common? @rakman - I just spoke with the prof at Boulder today and she said they have made all their decisions and are finalizing TA assignments now, and we should all hear from them in a week or so. So almost there! And yes, she confirmed funding is low, there are not enough TA-ships to go around, but if I dont get one there is always alternative funding if you can get a bridge til the big grants arrive... I don't know anything about phone contacts though. Did you apply to work with specific prof at Boulder? Good thing you have those backups!

PHGeo
I am visiting CU-Boulder on the 27-29. Anyone else going to be there? I've accepted a position with Dr. Root. I live in Florida and cannot afford to take a trip to Boulder (out of pocket). After you visit, I would love to chat with you about your experience. Let me know if you would be willing to have a private phone or chat session with me. Best of luck on your visit!
