linggeek Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 A classmate informed me today that she was accepted into our department's grad program, which I also had applied to. My heart sank because I haven't received the notification e-mail. I know, I haven't gotten any official rejection or word. But I'm kinda nervous. They send out acceptance notifications as they go and not all at once, right? Right? *breathe*
psi456 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I think other folks have asked this to. It depends on the school. I wouldn't put too much stock into it yet. You may still hear positively...
neuropsychosocial Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 It completely depends on the program! Keep breathing, do something that burns off anxiety if possible, and good luck!
michpc Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 yep, totally depends! I saw people getting emails from Penn about a week earlier and was ready to receive my rejection on "check the website day", but lo and behold, I got in. So, don't get your hopes up, but also don't let it hurt your spirit, there's still a chance till you read the rejection!
GI1 Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 (edited) Yup....It totally depends on school, be optimistic about it I know it's hard but what else can you do. Edited March 18, 2011 by GI1
linggeek Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 sorry to hear :-( Two of the professors in the dept are shocked/surprised. Too bad they weren't on the adcom! :-\ Thanks.
