  1. Me: Got in U of Illinois.(UIUC) Some friends: Where is it? Is it funded?....(after a while) oh BTW Congrats! Me: Umm..thanks! ********************* Another Friend: Congrats! So are you going to attend? Aren't you a little worried of going there by yourself? (Since I live far away from US) Me: I AM GOING TO ATTEND...URGHH (Thanks for the support BTW ) ********************* My advisor: It's really great, WOW, Congrats! Me:Thanks! There is a famous saying: If you have nothing nice to say just don't say anything, it's way better.
  2. I'm addicted to thegradcafe I'll praobably stick around, I have also recommended the website to so many others as well
  3. I'm waiting for U of A , ECE as well , I guess my chance is very low too as I haven't got any recommendations. from faculty
  4. I'm not that sure about the decision I made, It's a great school but I have to move away so far from ppl I like for some years, so it's definitely a BIG move and is the greatest change in my life EVER. I feel stressed, but this is what I wanted, to be able to enter grad school, to improve my situation, to become experienced, to learn and more great things, so hopefuly it's all for good and don't worry that much about your choice, it's gonna be alright
  5. Canadian Universities are sooooooooooo slow, I have not heard from the 5 schools I've applied to What on earth are they doing? They don't even respect April 15th.... BTW the funny thing is I have already accepted an offer from a school in US. I didn't even considred where I applied to, wasted my money and time.
  6. Moving to another country, that's a bit stressful...

Yeah, thanks guys. Hope you all the best.

  7. I asked the graduate office and they said that all the results would be given out by the end of March.
  8. I agree, it really doesn't matter how many acceptances you've got, no one cares, the important thing is that you've got at least one acceptance and remember that there was something very special and "graduate" in you that you've got a scholarship.
  9. Yup....It totally depends on school, be optimistic about it I know it's hard but what else can you do.
  10. I'm in the same area. Do you know if they are going to accept the offer or not?! I'm not sure if any spot is left.
  11. I just need to know the news dear school, please let me know..

  12. Any McGill EE acceptances?! I saw some on the result page? I wish to know their areas, I hate waiting................................
  13. I am waiting for McGill too, but it seems it has given out some acceptances, do you know if there are still acceptance results to be sent out??
  14. Anyone admitted to McGil (EE)? If yes, what area were you accepted in?
  15. Thankful......

  16. Uh...., let me tell you what just happened, I came back from school, went to my room and checked my email, from my messenger I understood I've got new emails, I checked and the subject was graduate application, when I saw it I really didn't think of being admitted (I really didn't think it is about the results and thought it is probably an update) I opened it and it said: Dear GI1, Congratulations!.....Oh My God!!!! I didn't read the rest and I just screamed (really) and then I started to cry and thanked God, my mom heard my scream and ofcourse my crying and thought I was rejected from a school, so she came to my room and I told her the good news so she was suprised too.....I am really happy, I had one rejection before so I was a bit depressed... I must add that I have not received any funding for it and it is almost as an reject ( I was a little sad about that afterwards, I really like this school) but still it means a lot to me, it encourages me to stay hopeful, and I hope to get some good news and funding from other schools in the future!! bottom line: stay hopeful guys nd gals!!
  17. I saw you've got pretty good acceptances, Congrats! Do you mind sharing your profile, like GPA, GRE or if you had publications?
  18. Thank you! let me add sth, even IF I or anyone else didn't get in to grad school that DOESN'T MEAN HE/SHE IS NOT A GOOD STUDENT, there is really no shame about it, it is a competitive procedure and we might just not be a good fit to the profs research interest, that's all!.......but have to wait until all the results are out and be hopeful Good luck to you too !
  19. Same! If I don't get in I have no plan B, I am just hoping, and also I am waiting for a rejection from my top school since I saw many acceptance results in gradcafe, it hurts, really hurts...but I try to be optimist.
  20. Same! I have set all my emails from different accounts to forward them all to a single email account, my stupid subscription to the deadline of the conferences (which I don't use but thought it would be academic to subscribe) makes me mad!
  21. BTW my mom is awesome, after my first rejection she told me not to worry and that the Uni. I got rejected from wasn't that good, although I did not want to be rejected for the reason she mentioned (I really don't like ppl telling that I will get in somewhere) but I must be honest, I feel much better now, her words were encouraging. Thank you mommy
  22. Got my first rejection,*sigh*, I expected it somehow but still it hurts so bad, I have to wait till mid March, hopefully for some good news....
  23. Got my first rejection today, the thing that hurts the most is that it was not a top school , really sad...I can't even cry...have no acceptances so far, what am I going to do?
