Has anyone heard anything (good or bad) regarding the Masters of Child Study and Education program at OISE (University of Toronto)?

Thanks!

Yep, I'm still an undergrad. I am required to complete my degree with a certain average

The SGS site itself takes forever to update. I got my official package around the same time as songers did, but my SGS status still says "Under Review."

Since I am also an undergrad, I also have a conditional offer. You need to complete those conditions before the program will allow you to register for classes.

I'm waiting it out this year... gah. It's the only program I've applied to. Judging by past results, wait list emails could be coming soon. Rejections definitely seem to have come in the mail in late March. I had heard that accepted candidates got a phone call followed by an acceptance package but based on the above posts, it seems as though being accepted via snail mail happens too...

Anybody else waiting it out this year? How did you find the interview? I thought the way they set it up for us was great...

Now just waiting...

Hey,

I had an interview for the MA Child Study and Education..my interview was on February 27'th I believe. I think my interview was a bit later than everyone else's. However, I am currently living in Seoul, South Korea and I was on vacation in Thailand up until last week. I believe my interview went relatively well...how about you internationaldevelopment? I also applied to the Master of Teaching program.

This was the only program I applied to and I found out last week that I got in! It was a phone call from the Program Liaison. She mentioned that nothing was official until we got the acceptance letter (and that she wasn't supposed to give us anything in writing in the meantime).

I'm not sure how they would go about notifying somebody who is abroad. Maybe via Skype again? Hope you got good news too!

I had my interview today and I am "shortlisted". Is there a difference between being shortlisted and waitlisted?

What was the conditional offer?

I also had an interview in February 9 and have not heard anything back. I know someone who had theirs a week later and they heard a response.

From my understanding shortlisted means that you were selected out of the larger pool of applicants and it is a good thing.

Congratulations to your friend! When did she have her interview?

Thank you, I'm super happy for her. She had it Feb 9

I have an interview this coming weekend, and was wondering for those who have had one, or know someone who has, what types of questions should I expect to be asked?

Also wondering if anyone has any idea of how many people are interviewed? I know that about 60 are accepted into the program total.

Hey! Just wondering if you could tell me a little about how your interview was? What kinds of questions they asked?

Hi I applied for Fall 2014- and haven't heard anything- but I see that Danya you have had an nterview or will have one this month. Do you know if they interview all candidates? How did you find out you got an interview? Any information you could pass along would be great! I am surprised that even if I was rejected that I wouldn't have been notified.

Thanks :)

Hey!

I also had an interview on the same day as Danya. I received a call from the Program Liaison on the monday (3rd of feb) before the interview (which was on a saturday - the 9th).
In regards to knowing if they interviewed all the candidates I have no idea sorry :( But from the looks of the past threads, people received interviews as last as the 24th of feb etc.

In regards to rejection, I think they won't notify you of such a case until April when all the letters go out (again also by the looks of past threads). I would probably keep as calm as possible (which seems so impossible!!) because there's half of feb. left!!

Thanks for the info!

It is so hard to know what to expect and what is "normal" because based on these threads anything could happen! I have read that people got rejected then accepted as late as April! Crazy! I am kind of leaning towards the rejection on my end just becaue my average was not great by OISE standards- I may have just scrapped by. But, I have great experiences, career and reasearch goals etc. So, who knows! I just hate the waiting game.

Is accpetance conditional upon the interview as well? Are you accepted now that you have had the interview?

How did the interview go? I think I would be very nervous for it! Lol (sorry for all the questions :P)

Anyways, all the best! This forum is helpful in providing some guidelines- which  is good :) Continue the posts if you can !

Good luck!
