  1. Congrats!!!!!! What a wonderful story of perserverance. Thank you for the update. I think it will give many people here who are going through similar paths a lot of hope.
  2. It definitely was hard. And I don't mind. My goal had always been to go into clinical psych, and after applying last year and not getting in, I was accepted to an American school this year. I also applied to some other programs, including social work. For many reasons, social work at U of T had some major advantages compared to the clinical psych program I got into (e.g. 2 years vs. 5, less costly, more flexibility in terms of future opportunities, etc.). But after some major lulling on the matter, I realized that clinical psych was the better option for me. 2 year.
  3. After some long, long, and longer consideration, I retracted my acceptance to U of T. I've been reading this thread for a long time and have always been so impressed by the encouragement and support that everyone gives. I can only hope that my spot opens up for someone on the waitlist here.
  4. Calgary finally gave an update. I'm on the waitlist but I'm going to be telling them I don't want my name kept on it anymore. For those who are wondering, they say that they won't be disclosing where a person is ranked on the waitlist. Names will be kept on the waitlist until August 1st.
  5. Thanks for the reply jenste! Really kind of have me closure on the whole UTSC program.
  6. Not that I applied or anything, I'm just curious...but did your friend already work with his/her soon-to-be advisor? The reason I and many of my friends did not apply was because we had heard from many people that the faculty were most likely taking people who have already been working with them (e.g. volunteer RA), or who were in the General psychology MA/PhD stream and were allowed to switch over to Clinical. Anywho that is a major accomplishment, congrats to your friend!
  7. I'm waiting too. On the results page someone got accepted Apr 1st by email.
  8. I applied to the clinical track but this is the response I got when I emailed them yesterday. "Student Services has posted this on our website in regards to 2013 Graduate Admission Results http://fsw.ucalgary.ca/node/420 If you have further questions/inquiries about the Master Program please send your emails to fswgrad@ucalgary.ca and a Graduate Student Advisor will be happy to assist you."
  9. I can answer that question. I applied mainly to clinical but did apply to MSW at U of T and I read that others who applied to that program got emails, and I did not. Hope that helps.
  10. To celebrate I will probably go on a Eurotrip for a month. And if I don't get in to where I want to go.....go on a Eurotrip to make myself feel better puahahhaha
  11. To anyone who applied to Clinical at Regina or Ryerson and has not received an offer, it is bad news =( I emailed POIs for both of those schools and they let me know that offers have already all gone out. 8 for Ryerson and 6 for Regina. I couldn't help the silence anymore. Although they are rejections, I feel better knowing something rather than just waiting around.
  12. I applied to 9 last year and got rejected from 8, waitlisted on 1 (that I eventually didn't get into). I suggest expanding your list of programs you are willing to apply to, that will allow you to get you to where you want to go. I'm not too sure about how English Lit is, but all I did was apply to clinical psych last year, so this year I applied to social work, applied social psych, etc. Figure out what it is you want to do, and the different paths that can bring you there. Do you HAVE to go into grad school? What other programs can you apply to? Maybe a diploma/certificate can get you to the same place? Apply to more programs? I applied to 9 last year, 15 this year. Also, volunteer, get more experience. I also improved my personal statement a LOT from last year. Maybe start earlier next time, if you end up having to apply again, and get more people to look at your application? I wish you all the luck with your applications!
  13. To the person who posted in the results that they got accepted to Saskatchewan, congrats! Also.....did you get interviewed?
  14. Question, were you interviewed?
  15. Thank you, I'm super happy for her. She had it Feb 9
