Tooma Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Hey! I received a very decent offer from WashU for a PhD in ECE. The supervisor is a legend, he is an IEEE life fellow and a renowned scientist yet the school is ranked 50 in Electrical Engineering Schools in US. Does the name/rank/reputation of the University where one gets his/her PhD have a major effect later on? Thank you!
HassE Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I was also accepted into WashU for their MS EE not PhD. WashU is a great school that is still emerging. My friend went to their campus and fell in love with it though. Depending on what you do and what you want to do upon graduating all depends on whether the school name will be significant or not.
