What happens if I accept an offer from a school that I already got in w/ funding (before knowing the NSF fellowship result), and then later find out that I got the NSF fellowship (if I got lucky)... Can I still contact my top choice schools that rejected me to reconsider my application? And if they do happen to accept me after that, what happens to the school I already accepted the offer?

this is why you should wait until you have all info...

not sure what you should do now. :(

once you find out about nsf, you should talk to the coordinator of the program whose offer you accepted. i'm sure they will be very understanding.

Just to kill time while waiting for my western blot, I looked at the source code for the page we all get once we log in through fastlane. (I mean in IE: View: Source) Near the bottom is the source for our biographical information that is displayed in the right hand pane, ie, what we see as "Applicant Data". In the source code, you can see all your information, such as address, email, name etc. At the end of that source section, does it say for you "" or "", or something different? Just curious, I am already in a program, so I am relieved of the time constraints of finding out my status, though I sympathesize....

Mine says "END Fellow Stats" but I think that doesn't mean anything.

I predict that one of us will log in one of these days and see status changed to "accepted" under applicant data. Before any email notification or site hack. Mass insomnia and hysteria will likely ensue as the NSF will likely send acceptances/rejections in rounds based on discipline.

me too. it's in an html comment though. i don't know if it's that important.

what are you guys talking about? How can I look at this?

I have this and I didn't win it (got in earlier)

do yourselves a favor and just try and forget about this cause about 90% of you are going to be really disappointed like me soon enough...

How did you find out you didn't get it?

Yeah, if you're on a mac, you can go to the same page (the main one upon logging in) and go to the Safari tab, go to View, then View Source. There's a bunch of text. That's what everyone's talking about. Probably doesn't mean anything?

What we really need to do is to get someone who has gotten it this year on here. And see if their log in page has changed, with a letter or accept/decline option posted.

earlier today you could log into some link that someone posted to see your review sheets

they closed it up like 5 mins after i did it

but at least i know... but it still sucks, i thought i had an excellent chance of at least HM, o well, life goes on

Some people have claimed to have gotten it already, based on posted results. It is possible. Like the previous poster said, 90% of us will not get it (possibly more).

now now, this is gradcafe. We have all the premium student blends so I assume at least 30 percent (number out of you know where) on here will get it!

A few people only know if they have three sheets and a high percentile. No one knows if they received an award. Based on what people have said who called today, NSF does not even know who won yet! As the fastlane people have said, they probably will not know until next week.

I bet there will be future incidents like the rating sheets today, so we need to keep looking for these. In the past this incidents have been very obvious and not subtle things like the source code for a page says fellow.

If anyone sees one of these incidents please post immediately, since Fastlane will probably be quick to fix it like they were today. If anyone sees a copy of any of the lists, copy and paste it here immediately. NSF was probably forced to publish it a day earlier last year because the full HM list was copied online.

As there was a request: (What we really need to do is to get someone who has gotten it this year on here. And see if their log in page has changed, with a letter or accept/decline option posted.)

Using the trick from this morning (going to .../ratingsheets, clicking "forgot password," etc.), I was sent to a page with the following message:

2009

****name*****

Applicant ***application number***

Congratulations!

You have been selected to receive a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF) award.

I could then view my 3 rating sheets via links on the side, etc etc

When I try to access things now, I get the same closed message that everyone else has, and it appears that nothing is different about fastlane for me.
