HyacinthMacaw Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 hello everyone, i'm currently trying to find phd programs here in the US that offer the opportunity to complete a joint program in social psychology and ethnic studies. no luck so far. anyone know if a program exists? any overall recommendations? thanks so much! Hi socpsy_123, I'm afraid I don't know of any such joint-degree programs, but some social psych programs may allow you to take courses in ethnic studies departments. Also, the Culture and Psychology Research Group (CPRG) at the University of Kansas may interest you even if it falls short of offering a joint degree. Feel free to take a look here: http://www.psych.ku.edu/cprg/cprgthemes.html Wishing you all the best in your search.
juilletmercredi Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Michigan has this somewhat unique program that allows their grad students to get graduate certificates in a variety of fields. Among other things, they have grad certificates in African American and Diaspora Studies; Asian Studies (China, South Asian, and Southeast Asian); Latin American and Caribbean Studies; Latina/o Studies; LGBTQ Studies; Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies; and Women's Studies. Not quite the same as a joint program, but it will give you the opportunity combine study.
