cutenemo Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 how long does it take from the official acceptance to get the I20? or how long did you wait if you already got yours? thank you
Bukharan Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 1. It definitely depends on the school - on their bureaucracy, intake of international students etc. 2. In most (?) schools, one needs to apply for I-20. So the acceptance is not enough, you need to apply for it. I would think that the information of how long it takes could be covered on your school website. If not, just e-mail them or call them up. It shouldn't be too long. 1-4 weeks (depending on the school) + mailing time?
eklavya Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 usually 1-2 weeks after you submit the necessary paperwork for them to issue the i20. all they (either the grad office or the int'l office - in many schools, the graduate level i20s are processed by the grad office) need is your letter of admission and proof of financial support. to get it, like Bukharan said, depends on snail mail's speed.
Argonaute Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 It really depends on the university. I actually had mine delivered even before I accepted the offer.
