yubby Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Hi everyone, I'm planning to apply to b-schools in OB this fall and I had a couple questions re: pubs. Are (first authorship) publications common among those accepted to OB programs at the top b-schools? Or are pubs seen more as bonuses to have, but not necessarily required, when applying to these schools? Thanks!
ApplicationsTakeTwo Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 From my experience pubs are not a necessity but they are a huge help. They show to the adcoms that you're serious about research and have experience doing academic work. I don't imagine there being many first authors among applicants. yubby and socialpsych 2
Behavioral Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 They're not common. I had a couple of conference publications/proceedings and they were always brought up to be exceptional during my interviews.
