I'm looking for a PhD program focusing on migration. I would like to have it situated within justice studies / human rights. Other possibilities are population studies or possibly demographics. An interdisciplinary program would appeal to me. ASU has what appears to be a great program, but I'm curious as to what other possibilities are out there.

The University of Texas at Austin is one of the top demography programs in the country, and they have numerous faculty working on migration studies.

If you're willing to study outside of the states the University of Western Ontario has an excellent Migration and Ethnic Studies program that is interdisciplinary. You must apply to a discipline in the social sciences: sociology, anthropology, history, etc and then, if accepted, you are eligible to join the program. I am a newcomer to the program and am very excited about getting involved; it looks like they provide some excellent opportunities (not to mention funding; I am an international student but received a full scholarship!). Also, because it is interdisciplinary I will have the chance to explore ideas from viewpoints that are not specific to my field. Intriguing stuff. :o)

Hey Apop, I sent you a PM asking your help in the area of Ontario Universities. It would be great to hear your advice on some questions I have.
