wishingstar Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Hi everyone, I am a little confused as to the policy stated in some schools I looked into. I originally was planning to apply to both MPA programs and PhD programs in political science, but as I was reading the policies of some schools such as Cornell and Yale, they state that applicants can only apply to one program. I just need some clarification. So to my understanding, this means that if I apply to a school with such a policy, say Cornell, then I can only choose to apply to either PhD in political science or the MPA program but cannot apply to both. Correct? Please let me know! Thanks!!!
mv0027 Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Sounds like it. Are the programs in the same department/school? Some university only you apply to one program in the entire university, others only one program per department/school. More important question though is, you know how different those career paths are right? I mean, its cool to not be sure what you want to do, but realize the difference in those options!

Hi mv0027, Thank you for the reply! I did some more research and it seems like most schools only allow you to apply to one program. Yeah, I realize they are quite different, but I'm trying to keep my options open.
