Sculpture MFA- Suggestions Based on Work

Hey everybody!

I'm applying for an MFA in Sculpture starting Fall of 2012 and would love to hear some thoughts about my work and where you think it would fit.

At present I'm thinking about the following schools:

VCU

Carnegie Mellon

MICA

Columbia

Maybe Yale?

Any suggestions for back up schools? I'm trying to stay near the east coast but will go wherever works out best.

Your school selections look good to me. I'm from NC as well, 3 of my friends just graduated from UNCG's MFA program.

You should also think about the Bay Area (Berkley, Stanford). Something about the technical skill in these makes me think of the Bay Area as a good place to be for you.

How about SUNY Purchase? I think they might like that. You definitely need some fallbacks. Your work doesn't look like it was fished out of a junkyard, so it probably won't go over at Yale. How about UNC Greensboro, Montclair State, and UMBC?

what kind of departments are you looking for? I would look into SAIC Performance with your dance and body-in-photography work. My other recommendations will depend on what kind of work you want to do, you have many different things on your website.
