disintegrate Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 I do not have any economics background. I will have to satisfy economics prerequisite prior to matriculation. Is it advisable to do this via long distance programs such as Principles of Economics at JHU or do it during summer prior to matriculation. It is expected to complete the prerequsite with a gpa of greater than 3.0. Any opinions/thoughts for those with non-economics background who want to apply for Masters in IR? disintegrate 1
Yossarian Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Yikes! SAIS has an econ prerequisite??? Wow, I am really not prepared for the admissions process . I find it funny how the MBA programs I've looked at don't require these Econ courses while so many MPP programs do.. lottesnk 1
carpecc Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 It doesn't matter where you get it, as long as you do the prerequ. You can do any comm college or University of Phoenix, SAIS told me this. If you don't get it done by the time you apply, address on your app that you plan to get it done before you enroll. I didn't (I just studied principles of econ on my own) and didn't get into SAIS because of it (most likely, but it doesn't matter). Anyways you'll need it. The econ classes in these pub policy schools don't, well SIPA at least, don't touch the principles, it gets pretty damn intense and easy to fall behind.
