lalabooks Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I took the old GRE and am not happy with my scores. I am studying to take the new one. I do not know what my problem is when it comes to tests like this. I think it is a combination of becoming more familiar with the material and calming my nerves during the actual test. Please if anyone has ANY advice/tips pertaining to any aspect of the test it would be greatly appreciated!! I am so nervous about not doing well and this is my last chance.
alicejcw Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I would recommend reading where I and a few others posted about our experiences with the revised test and which prep methods worked best for us. I would focus on taking as many practice tests and practice problem sets as possible, especially on the computer to get used to the format. If you don't do well on the practice tests, don't stress out too much! Princeton Review said my performance on their practice tests was "below average", but I ended up with scores in the 700-800 range. Good luck! How soon are you taking it? I'm applying to SLP programs this fall too!
lalabooks Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 Thank you. I will check out that thread. It seems my problem is when I do practice problems in books, I have an issue applying what I learned to new problems. If that makes sense. I am taking them Dec. 8. As you know, SLP programs are super competitive, so every aspect of my application matters. The whole process is just so overwhelming!!
