George2248 Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I am now preparing my CV/RESUME hybrid for application to a MS. I was wondering if I should include my high school studies and awards?
Eigen Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I think I dropped almost all of mine by my junior year of college or so. Unless you have some really outstanding stuff on there, I don't think I'd put it on a grad school application.
George2248 Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 I graduated with the best grades of a 160 students class from a very good private school in my country. I had gpa 19.75/20 which was pretty good. Would it hurt if I put it? would it look unprofessional?
Eigen Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I wouldn't put your GPA/class rank from highschool on your CV, no. I was more talking about things like nationally competitive awards, internships, summer research programs, etc.
runonsentence Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Echoed. Definitely don't include high school GPA/rank information. Performance in high school classes isn't an indication of preparation for graduate-level research—which should be the indicator for whether anything goes on a CV. The CV should show your preparation to do scholarly work.
