If its Berkeley and MIT you're waiting for, then I guess there are quite a few people here who are waiting to hear from them.. So I guess they've not made their decisions yet.. Or they've made their decisions already and none of the people on this forum have been the ones who have been admitted or rejected.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the MIT EAPS program had their open house for prospective students last week. If they haven't notified you of being accepted or waitlisted, my guess is that it's a rejection... but I may be wrong. Good luck everyone!

I thought that was just the MIT/WHOI Joint Program & PAOC's open house. Not all of EAPS.

I'm applying to CEE programs, Computational Hydraulics specifically, so far here is where I'm at:

Applied: MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, Columbia, UC Irvine (undergrad institution)

Invited: Caltech (no solid word yet though, visiting the 24th)

Accepted:

Rejected:

Waiting sucks :/

Please decline the UC Irvine admit in time if you're not going there. I applied to CEE UC Irvine and I'm yet to get a decision. Did you get your acceptance email from April Heath?

I got word of funding for San Jose State. $5000 TA for one year and I have to teach one 3 credit lab each semester of Earth Science for non-science majors. Also, 6 credits of tuition waiver for each term. It's not very much stipend but for a MS program at a State school I feel okay about it.

The dilemma is that I'm still waiting on Berkeley. I think it's really unlikely since I didn't get into Stanford that I would get into Berkeley but it seems like such a crap shoot sometimes that it's hard to give up hope. I emailed the department grad admissions contact and asked if they could maybe at least let me know if I was denied or still in consideration. No answer yet.

I called them early this week. They said they already gave out most of offer, they probably send out the rejection at the end of this week or next week.

Thank you so much, that helps a lot. I accepted their offer. I think it's the best fit in the long run seeing as I have been out of college for 10 years.

Got rejected last night from Columbia. Dissapointed, but not horribly suprised at this point. I feel like I would have heard something more if it was going to happen. Oh well, if I don't get in this year anywhere, I will try agian next year. Three more schools to go.

Has anyone heard from any of the Texas Geology programs. I have 5 programs (4-Tx, 1-Ok) that I have yet to hear from. Every day brings less hope for acceptance and higher probability of failure. If you have been accepted, rejected, or waitlisted to any of these programs for Geology or Geophysics please send me some info on when it happened and how it went down. I would just like to hear any information. Right now I would rather be rejected than have to wait another month. I may get my wish. I just want to know where I will be living before I graduate next month. Seems like the entire geology applications world is running a month behind this year. Any Info would be greatly appreciated.

University of Texas Austin, Rice, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M, Oklahoma University

Good luck to all!

Waiting on 5

Rejected: Colorado School of Mines, Arizona University

Got another reject today.. University of Washington, Seattle.. That ends my application season.. All the best to everyone who's waiting and to those who will be attending grad school this fall.. May the force be with you!! :)..

The spate of rejects during the last couple of weeks has made me realise that this application season could have gone bitterly wrong for me and I do consider myself lucky that I have atleast one school to go to..

I am really grateful to everyone on this forum for all the help and the company. The waiting period between January and March, till the first decisions started rolling in, were really tough and I don't know how I would have handled it without gradcafe.. :) .. Might have got more work done, but definitely lost a whole lot more hair.. :)
