girlseekingphd Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Okay. I have two days visiting my first choice school. The first day is booked with tours and classroom observations and interviews. If I get in, this visit may be the only preview I have to the city before I move there. As a potential grad student, what would you do with one day near the school or on campus? What should I look for? What do you think might be most helpful to me if I end up moving there? Any thoughts, suggestions, etc. would be very appreciated. Thanks, guys!
missashley Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 I would ask the students there what they think you should see that night. Since they are in your dept, they might share your interests... I did that when I had less than a day at one of my schools and got to check out the coffee shop, bar, sushi place, and library where most people in my dept like to hang out. (it was a small town so there was only one of each:) What kind of theater phD are you pursuing?
