Nofia Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 The deadline for this passed already for this year, but I'm curious if anyone applied for an IHS fellowship? Or has anyone applied in the past? its one of the only fellowships in the humanities that I could find that offers funding for PhD students who aren't ABD already...I applied, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works out.
technocat Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I applied for it. Haven't heard anything back yet. In past years, some winners have complained of getting very little actual money (a couple thousand), but I would be pleased with any extra dollars at this point.
Nofia Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 yeah, I think if you have any other funding from your school, IHS cuts the amount of the fellowship to something very nominal, but I, like you, would be happy with anything extra ;-).
zipplin2000 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Anyone applied or heard back from them this year?
Anthronerd Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Nope, I saw somewhere on the website that the date they would announce their decisions is May 1st. Did you get invited to one of their summer seminars?
boomer Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 Did you receive notification already? Nope, I saw somewhere on the website that the date they would announce their decisions is May 1st. Did you get invited to one of their summer seminars?
Anthronerd Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I got notification that they will let us know on Friday (tomorrow)by 5pm EST
EccentricAcademic Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Did anyone apply this year? I did.
ohgoodness Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I applied as well but I was so sick when writing my "freedom" things that I doubt that I will be getting anything. Also I am rather bummed out about not hearing back before may 1st. That's a very long time..
Hige Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I applied too. I am a literature guy, I don't know that they give money to literature students, but I thought it worth the try anyways, ya never know. But yes, May 1 seems a lone time away....
