HolyGRE Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Hey guys! So if your GRE report or the recommendation letter are received after the posted deadline, does it mean that your application won't be reviewed at all? Cuz for some online application systems, there is no way for you to check the status of your supporting materials. I guess my letters are not complete, so I am so crazily worried about my application. Also, what if you provided, by mistake, 3 referees' email addresses for those requiring only 2, but 2 of 3 lettered are already submitted? Do I need to delete the 3rd person? Or the school will start the reviewing process even though the 3rd one is missing? Thanks guys!!! Big wishes to all of you!!!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Email the dept. secreatary and ask about the status of your application, saying that some of your reccomenders may have gotten their letters in late. But don't do it the day after you submit online. Even if the reccomendors have already submitted, the computers may need time to update. Same with the GRE. E-mail them to let them know its coming. And I would delete the third email if they say "we want 2" (and email your reccomendor to tell them not to bother so they don't hit some internet wall when trying to submit), although I'm sure a program would see 2 letters as complete if they are requring 2.
